Our Client has an exciting opportunity for Trade Assistant's to be based in Gladstone. The role will provide assistance to trade staff in maintenance, manufacture and refurbishment of rail rollingstock.  

The role will provide regular hours for a 6-12 month period. 

About the Role: 

Responsibilities include 

• Assist Experienced Trade personnel with maintenance and repairs to customer associated equipment on site and in-field operations 
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop area, depot and other equipment 
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks to changing workloads

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Availability for work schedules involving shift work and reasonable overtime as required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels and work collaboratively in delivering high levels of customer service
• Understanding and adherence to Rail Occupational Health and Safety principles and practices
• Valid Australian driver’s license
• Successful completion of pre-employment checks, including Category 1 Rail Medical, Musculoskeletal Assessment, and ongoing Drug and Alcohol testing

Desirable:

• Forklift Licence 
• Railway Track access/rail awareness certificate
